Plant Description

White Wood Aster (Eurybia divaricata) is a shade-loving perennial native to eastern North America, including New Jersey. Growing up to 2.5 feet tall, it produces small, daisy-like white flowers with yellow to red centers from August to September, attracting butterflies and other pollinators. Its heart-shaped, toothed leaves and zigzagging dark stems add texture to woodland gardens (Missouri Botanical Garden).

This plant thrives in dry, shady conditions, making it ideal for borders, wildflower gardens, or as an understory in woodland settings. Minimal maintenance and drought tolerance make it a practical choice for gardeners. Its late-season blooms provide vital nectar for pollinators, supporting biodiversity (Jersey-Friendly Yards).
