Spring Happenings 2024

FWH Associates Hired!

We have completed the search for a professional architectural landscaping firm and have hired Trident & FWH Associates for the strategic landscape plan. This firm was chosen after a long process which initially solicited bids from fifteen firms. Trident & FWH, founded in 1989 and located in Toms River, has an excellent reputation. After drone surveying, the firm will be creating conceptual plans for four highly visible areas in town; the entrance at Sea Girt Ave., the exterior perimeter of Crescent Park, Station Park, and the north side of The Terrace. Initial plans are approved by the town council but more detailed site plans will be developed. We hope that in future years we’ll be able to expand these improvements to other public open space areas in town.  The Conservancy is funding this strategic landscape plan thanks to donations from hundreds of residents through our semiannual mail solicitation and the annual summer cocktail party, which will be held this year on July 20th.

Mulch Madness

We completed our “Mulch Madness” project on Sat. April 20th. Mulch was distributed in all garden beds at Station Park and Edgemere Park. Thanks to all volunteers including members of Sea Girt Fire Company, the Shade Tree Commission and our dedicated DPW workers.

The Pollinator Garden

On May 18th volunteers installed the final 500 plants in the Pollinator Garden at Edgemere Park. This brings the total of native plants in the garden to 1,800! The pollinator garden has been designed to provide flowers from spring to fall which in turn will support native bees, moths, hummingbirds and other pollinators.  As it matures, the garden will also become a food source for birds and insects. We invite you to stop by and see for yourself… it’s an interesting destination. Our efforts here will continue, as we have obtained additional grant monies to install bird houses and signage describing the many plant species.

Save the Date! Cocktails, Magic, Music, and more…

The 2024 Annual Sea Girt Conservancy Cocktail Party will be held Saturday, July 20th from 5:30-7:30 PM. Location to be announced.
