Forest Mowing Project

Sea Girt Boro in conjunction with the Sea Girt Conservancy has initiated a multiyear program to improve selected wooded areas. The aim of this program is to control invasive vines and weeds, to increase sustainability, improve habitat, and improve the appearance of these areas. These efforts will allow native plants to reestablish, but some replanting will occur. The initial mechanical phase involves “forestry mowing” which was done by an outside contractor. The next phase will involve treatment of regrowth. If all goes well, replanting may begin in 2022. The link below contains more information on reforestation.
